Apr 12, 2020 · I made the skis from .25" HDPE with 3/8" baltic birch to make it ridged yet still flexible, 1" aluminum riser frame welded, riser to ski is 2" HDPE drilled at an angle for the tube. The deck is 3/8" Mahogany with 3/8" oak cross support. The deck is attached to the tube using clamps we use in the lighting business. Jul 6, 2021 · I think an aluminum plate on the backside of the hinges is better for stability, and when I fix up my Nanook, will add maybe at least a 2inch wide aluminum plate (maybe 36 inches long) roughly 3/8 to 1/4 thick.... The guy in the second video installed the hinges backwards. When you lower the hinges, have the sled fall forward, not backwards.
